Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks All-Time Bowl Results and Records

It's Ohio State Vs. Oregon For All The Marbles

It’s Ohio State Vs. Oregon For All The Marbles

If you include championship or title games, Ohio State is appearing in its 46th Bowl game this evening and Oregon its 29th.

The Buckeyes and Ducks have met two times before on so (ok, not quite as so) grand a stage: the 1957 and 2009 Rose Bowls. Ohio State came out on top both times.

FIFA World Cup: Host Nation Results (1930-2014)

Germany Romped Brazil, In Brazil

Germany Romped Brazil, In Brazil

Brazil bit the dust today in the worst thrashing a host nation has ever received at the FIFA World Cup. A shockingly dominant German squad vanquished Brazil in the Semi-finals 7-1, a six-goal slaughter.

Only one other time, in 1954, has a host country yielded seven goals. Then, Austria beat Sweden by a more respectable 7-5.

Don’t feel too bad for the Brazilians (but yes, it hurts – and all but one team will feel that way, and carry it four years at least) – they hold just about all the World Cup historical records, including most Cups (five).

Below is a look at how every host performed in each of the World Cups.

There have been 20 editions. Six hosts won it all. Two others made it to the Finals, but lost.

** In 1950, the Final Round of the World Cup was a round-robin (like the Group Stage today) featuring Uruguay, Brazil, Spain and Sweden. The final game, Uruguay vs. Brazil, decided the winner.
