Major League Baseball: Top 10 Most Total Bases in a Game
Posted by Vin Getz
Josh Hamilton went deep four times Tuesday night, racking up 18 total bases in the process – most in American League history.
He’s the 16th player to hit four home runs in a game. That list includes Shawn Green, who in 2002 for the Los Angeles Dodgers, collected 19 total bases, most all time.
Today’s list ranks the top 10 ballplayers with the most total bases in a single game; it’s 18 players in all, including 14 of the 16 with those four-homer games.
The two missing might have also made this list – but there is no box score for Bobby Lowe and Ed Delehanty who had their big games in 1894 and 1896, respectively.
