Eli Manning, Dan Marino and Quarterbacks with the Most 400-Yard Games in a Season
Posted by Vin Getz
Yesterday, Sports List of the Day checked out QB’s that have thrown for 500 yards in a single game. That’s happened only 11 times in NFL history.
How about 400-yard games? That’s happened 249 times, including the playoffs, as of the date of this post.
My source on this one, wikipedia, covers everything you need to know about 400-yard games from which quarterbacks have had the most to consecutive games with 400 yards to games with two QB’s throwing for 400 yards and more more more. It even lists every 400-yard game ever thrown.
But let’s take a look from another angle. How about multiple 400-yard games in a single season? Eli Manning‘s got three this year. He’s tied with Dan Marino, Bernie Kosar and brother Peyton as the only QB’s to have at least three 400-yard games in a single season.
Marino is tops with five in his record-setting year, 1984.
* Note: This list includes the postseason (indicated by the additional year).
